WHY JOIN THE 108 MILE RANCH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION?
Relatively few 108 Mile residents and property owners are aware of our Comunity Association - and even fewer are aware of its functions and value to our community. Consequently, and understandably, membership is low.
The central and essential purpose of the association, through its elected executives, is to:
- manage the assets and responsibilities of the association: The Community Hall, Bingo, beaches;
- support activities that enhance our community: volunteers dinner, children's Christmas party, annual beaches clean-up, community newsletter.
. . . and probably most important,- act as a lobbying group on your (community residents / property owners) behalf.
While it's always encouraging for those of us on the RCA executive (elected, volunteer positions) to know we have the active support of a good number of community members, the signed up support in the form of membership is especially important when we seek to represent the wishes and interests of the 108 Community e.g. to other levels of government. We carry a lot more clout when we have the overt support of a significant proportion of the community.
We live in a unique community. With its blend of privacy, neighbourhood and spacious greenbelt lands, 108 Mile Ranch provides a lifestyle hard to find these days. Much is done at various levels of government and associated volunteer groups to preserve and enhance the features of life in this community. Your membership helps to support and protect this.
So, we are encouraging you to sign up. Because membership fees are so low, we know that's not a factor. We encourage you to fill in our membership form or drop in at the 108 Café where you can get a form and/or leave your completed form and payment; or mail it to us at the above address (cheques payable to the 108 Mile Ranch Community Association). Please contact Al Blannin (791-5757) or Jeffrey Newman (791-9206) if you have any questions or suggestions.
Fell free to print this message and show it to 108 friends or e-mail them the URL: http://www.108ranch.com/why-join.html. We expect that there are many 108 residents and property owners who will understand the value of joining their community association. Please join us in building the membership and thus the strength of our Association.
